Discord ticket & modmail bot

One button. Private tickets.

ModMailBot turns a Contact Support button into private ticket channels on your own server. A member taps, answers a short intake form, and your staff pick it up in a channel only they can see — context already attached.

Free · No Administrator · No data stored · ~2-minute setup

This is the whole member experience: one panel, one tap. No commands to learn, and no more late-night DMs to your mods.

How it works

See it in action

Every request follows the same path, with nothing for your members to memorize.

Steps 1–2

Post a panel. Members tap and answer.

Drop a Contact Support panel in any public channel, with as many department buttons as you need. A member picks one and answers a short intake form, up to five questions, before anything opens.

Step 3

A private channel opens, context attached

Only that member and the staff ranks you choose can see it. The bot posts the intake answers up front and pings the right role, so nobody starts with “hi, what’s wrong?”.

Steps 4–5

Close gracefully, keep the record

Staff propose closing; the member confirms, or a countdown finishes the job. A self-contained HTML transcript lands in your archive channel, then the ticket channel is deleted.

Features

Everything a support workflow needs

Custom ticket types

As many buttons as you need, each with its own color, emoji, ping role, archive channel, and welcome message.

Intake forms

Ask up to five questions before the channel opens, so staff start with the context they need.

Tiered staff access

Ranks 1–10 mapped to your roles; higher ranks inherit lower ones. Sensitive types stay senior-only.

Graceful close

Members see a live countdown and can confirm or ask for more help, so no ticket gets closed out from under them.

Transcripts you own

Self-contained HTML transcripts saved in your server's archive channel. Your messages are never stored on our side.

Abuse controls

Cooldowns, throttling, one open ticket per type, and a blocklist. Panels even repair themselves if a button stops responding.

Privacy

Your data stays yours

Privacy here isn't a setting you switch on. It's how the bot is built, right down to this page: no analytics, no cookies, no tracking scripts.

Your conversations never touch our servers

No message content or intake-form text is ever stored or logged in our database — an architectural rule, not a toggle. The little we do keep sits encrypted at rest with AES-256.

The bot can't read DMs

Conversations start from a panel button, so there is no DM channel for it to snoop in.

No Administrator, ever

Least-privilege: it asks only for what it needs. Run /diagnose to see exactly what that is.

Leave clean

Remove the bot and your data is deleted after a 30-day grace, or instantly when an admin runs /data delete.

FAQ

Common questions

Is this overkill for a small server?

If members ever DM your mods for help, no. Even a handful of requests get lost or forgotten, and setup takes about two minutes. It's free, and you can remove it anytime.

Does it need Administrator permission?

No. ModMailBot follows least-privilege and only asks for what it needs. Run /diagnose to check.

Can members DM the bot to open a ticket?

No. Tickets start from a panel button only, and the bot doesn't read DMs by design.

Is there a paid tier?

Not currently. Everything here is free.
